KNEE DEEP FARM FAMILY

I have such a soft spot for this family. I met Shane and Eliza over ten years ago now. I was 18 and I had just gotten my fist job professionally gardening for the resort I grew up at, Smugglers Notch. Shane was the only guy on the flower crew and we all had a lot of fun with that, ha! I met Eliza that winter at the sports shop where i would start working when flower crew wound down and the snow began to fly. Flash forward 6 or so years and I found myself invited to work on the farm they had just started the season prior. That one season quickly turned into three and I wish it could have lasted a lifetime. Some of the best days of my life happened in those three years and one of my favorite parts was getting to watch Quinn and Ada from seed to sprout to fast growing little plants! There’s something so special about the relationships that stay with us. About watching people grow and change and become. That’s one of the reasons I love my resort town. Mountain communities are unmatched if you ask me. A few weeks ago I got to visit with the whole fam at a new field they’ve been stewarding for the past few years and catch up. It was so good to be back on the farm. Being back in the fields always reminds me of what matters most and i pulled out of the farm that day, a massive haul of veggies in tow, with a renewed sense of purpose and a whole lot of excitement for the furture a d a return to farming breathed into me.
